As you will notice, the programs are broken down into two categories. The first of these are the Fantasy/Role Playing Programs. These are useful for those who enjoy playing pen and paper style role playing games or writers of fantasy fiction. The second of these are the Novelty Programs. This is simply a collection of fun and amusing programs for your entertainment.

For the enjoyment of serious role playing and strategy gamers, Dave has provided several resources on this website. Here they are:
Melodrama! is an easy to learn role playing game that's based on a warped, wacky, somewhat surreal sense of modern day life. Where wild paranormal hijinks, slapstick comedy, bad one liners, and everyday suburban life go hand in hand.
Based rather on the reaction of performed (or unsuccessfully attempted) actions, Melodrama! is not a "slave" to a combat orientated rules system. Participation and true character play are more vital than "winning and being a hero" in Melodrama!
So, how much would you pay for Melodrama!? $39.95? $49.95? $19.95?
Don't bother! Melodrama! is available here for free on Dave's Ultra Homepage. You may download it and copy/redistribute/whatever as much as you like as long as you realize that Melodrama! is copyrighted. Thus, though you may reprint it as much as you like, you cannot change the contents, attempt to sell Melodrama!, or take a claim to fame on it's authorship. Also, while you are free to make as many "supplement" items for Melodrama! as you like, you may not use any of these for commerical means... so don't try to sell them.
Other than that, please enjoy the game and tell me what you think about it. I appreciate your comments and suggestions. If you want to see more of Melodrama!, then please say so. I have a bunch of ideas on the "blackboard" and plans to release more stuff on this site (including "adventure episodes" and sourcebooks) if the demand is fair enough.

Note: To view Melodrama!, you must have an Envoy Viewer. To get one, try the Corel site.

Below are some fantasy style game maps for your use. You may download/copy/save these as you like. You may also modify their contents to show changes and mapping numbers as long as you do not try to redistribute the maps for commerical reasons or claim authorship.

Out of all the games on the market that I have played, I would say that GURPS is perhaps one of my most favorite. Since I enjoy both the flexibility of the game and many different genres, I have naturally acquired alot of Gurps rulebooks. Some of these are currently in print while others are not (though quite possible to find in the used section of hobby shops).
Before I go on, I must state three things since they are very important:
Important Thing #1: GURPS and all Rulebooks (And Contents) mentioned in the following reviews (of the GURPS rulebooks) are Copyrighted/Trademarked by Steve Jackson Games. I own no rights to any of these, I am merely reviewing the merit of their contents.
Important Thing #2: The reviews (of the GURPS rulebooks) are based on my (Dave Woodrum) personal opinions and likes/dislikes. Comments, Appraisals, or Complaints about the products in the below reviews do not reflect the expressed opinions of Steve Jackson Games, you, some odd third party, or anyone else.
Important Thing #3: The reviews below are not intended for any form of commerical benefit including advertisement. You have your own rights to make your own decisions about what you want or do not want to buy. I cannot make that for you. Furthermore, my expressed beliefs are hard fit for what can be called "advertisement".
Got all of that? Good. On with the reviews....
Magic Items 2: Though I have no clue as to what Gurps Magic Items 1 was like, I must say that I liked the second book. Magic Items 2 is chock full of interesting items, including a personal favorite: Go limbs (which are basically a fantasy equivalent to cybernetics). From trinkets of trivial value to objects of great power, there's an enchanted something for nearly every type of player. A great buy if you can find a copy.
Martial Arts: I must admit that I had originally bought this book for the sole purpose of obtaining some wrestling rules for GURPS. I've never had a whole lot of interest in stuff like ninjas and karate but when I started pouring through the contents of Martial Arts, I was immediately drawn in. This book basically covers every form of martial arts known to man and then some (such as Smasha, Orcish fighting style). For those who like to create rather than imitate, the Martial Arts book seems to be set up especially for people interested in making up thier own fighting styles. The moves are realistic and add a whole new level to the Gurps combat system(s). Since hand to hand combat is a natural occurance in any genre (sci fi, fantasy, spy, super hero, whatever), I consider this book to be almost as important as the Basic Set.
Space: While there is alot of useful information in this book, I was somewhat disappointed with what it lacked. For starters, there were no rules on robots. I found this to be both annoying and odd since the book clearly had illustrations of robots (and these mechanical pals play such a vital role in sci fi). Second, the information on alien races was kinda slim.
Still, complaints aside, it was a reasonably good rulebook and did contain a very nice system for designing space craft/starships. Overall, I'd recommend it if somebody was pondering the idea of running a GURPS sci fi campaign.
Supers: This could perhaps be the best super hero rpg ever made. The Supers book presents an immense selection of powers and abilities. The sample characters are also interesting enough and though the author presented his idea of what brought about super powers, the rule book does not rely on any particular story line. You can easily convert most any super hero/villian over from most any comic lineup. I also like using a few of the powers and abilities in my Gurps fantasy campaign as well.
Time Travel: Time Travel is a popular book amongst Gurps players because the Gurps system allows this genre to be played out alot more effectively than most games. The book itself is reasonably good and expresses the possibilities and results of time travel very well. Like most rule/source books in the Gurps series, Time Travel is open for difference in opinion, imagination, and ideals. A must for history buffs.
(More reviews coming soon!)
As most any other child of my time, I was a diehard Star Wars fan and toy owner. While the original figures of the old line up did not look nearly as "accurate" as today's release, there was no such thing as an R5D4 with internal missile launcher (who dreamed that up anyway!?!). Though most of the toys are easily remembered, there were a few rare gems that held a special place in my heart.
One of these was the Sears (or I think it was Sears) version of Snaggletooth. Instead of the squat little dark skinned guy in a maroon outfit, this version was normal sized, had a blue suit, pale whitish skin, and, gasp!, disco boots!
Another one of my favorites is a "giant sized" figure that for awhile I was'nt even sure existed. I saw it as a small child (while being pushed in the buggy during a Christmas shopping venture) and that was all the memory that I have of it. The figure in question is none other than the "giant sized"/12" IG-88. I was asking about the existance of it on this site for awhile until my good friend Mike Walton informed me that it was in fact real. Thanks, Mike! (Note: Mike is currently proofing modules and rulebooks for TSR's on line site).
Remember the things called "mini rigs" (or something like that). They were little vehicles that for the most part did not appear in the actual movies. I remember having one that had wheels on "shock absorbent" legs, some small fighter looking craft with a bubble cockpit window, and a grey Imperial vehicle with suction cup footed legs.
My favorite was the suction cup footed legs.
Anyone remember the remote control sandcrawler or the vehicle that carried figures around (that had different sounds and a "hiding place" behind the back engine? I had the figure carrier and I wanted the sandcrawler.
While Star Wars toys continue to come and go I have become somewhat jaded by the whole event. Rather than seeking out to own all or the most collectible, I would simply like to own the ones that I particulary want. This includes most of the droids, aliens, and bounty hunters.
Though originally too cool for words, Masters Of The Universe soon proved that there can be "too much of a good thing".
The first few releases were pretty much without flaw, fairly low on the cheesiness, and featured some interesting characters and twists (especially when Faker mysteriously began appearing on the shelves).
This trend, in my opinion, peaked at the release of Trap Jaw (with the comic centered around his story), and began to level off from there.
Sure, the Evil Horde toy products were an exciting twist and all, but it seemed that Mattel's interests were gradually aiming for an ever younger market.
Still though, Masters Of The Universe gave me many months of entertainment and I even enjoyed alot of the off brand stuff (including the Pirates Of The Galax Seas line (company unknown) and some no name figure with solid black skin, no face, and a Roman guard style helmet (in green)).
Though this was indeed a huge hit with me for a very good while, I am afraid that I'm the only person who remembers the fantasy figure line of The Other World. Made by, I believe, a company called Arco, these figures were of the bendy format but surprisingly well detailed and of a more "serious" nature. They did'nt look "cartoony" and they had some very nice (and well detailed) weapons (which all glowed in the dark). Most of them came with two smaller figures (little humanoid critters called Jips (the good guys, big roundish heads on little orange bodies) and the bad guys called Mogs (the bad guys, pointy (kinda conehead like) heads on smallish purple bodies) and sold for a price lower than most action figure lines. In fact, many of the larger figures and "playsets" could be purchased for an amount not much greater than many brand name action figures. I had many of these as well.
Does anyone else remember The Other World? Does anyone have any of the toys? Does anyone wish to sell/trade the toys to me???
If anyone has the slightest clue as to what I'm talking about, please email me.
There are a few old toys that I would like to acquire. I am not all that concerned about missing weapons and equipment but I do not want toys that have been broken or stained up. I do not mind dirt but I do not want toys with missing hands, dents, or pen and paint marks on them. Below are the toys that I would like to have.
The Other World: I am interested in acquiring figures and accessories from this long forgotten series. If you have any, please email me.
M.U.S.C.L.E.: I would like to acquire Muscles, any color and any type. If you have any, please email me.
C.U.T.I.E.: Aka, the "sisters of Muscle". These figures were neon and were shaped like teeny boppers doing various things. If you have any, please email me.
Monster In My Pocket: Aka, the "ugly cousins of Muscle". These figures were brightly colored monsters and they came with a trading card. I'm not concerned about the lack of trading cards. If you have any, please email me.
Off Brand MUSCLES: During the fame of the Muscle figures, there were several off brands (oddball wrestler figures) to come about. I am interested in acquiring these, particulary the stiffer ones under the Musclemania label. If you have any, please email me.
In his struggle/quest/goose chase to gain M.U.S.C.L.E. figures, Dave has had the fortune of meeting up with a couple of valuable friends who are seeking out the Tigershark action figures of the 80's, especially one named MAKO. If you have these figures or know of they're whereabouts (to be obtained), please email Dave or his Tigershark seeking pals, Rob and Cindy.
Thank you for your help.

This area of Dave's Ultra Homepage is dedicated to those wonderful keys to our inner childhood, toys. While toy lines may come and go, there are/were a few that held great merit. Many of these were based on blockbuster movies while a few others hardly had even as much as a single commercial. Here are some of Dave's favorite "plastic blasts from the past"....
